There is a new travel service provider

Following a competitive open tender process, Corporate Travel Management Pty Ltd (CTM) has been appointed as the travel service provider for Members of Parliament, their staff and former parliamentarians. 

FCM will continue to provide travel services for until 31 December 2021. Until this date, please continue to book travel for 2021 with FCM.

CTM will manage travel bookings for 2022 from Wednesday 1 December 2021.

 

Why is there a new travel service provider?

The current travel service provider contract expires on 31 December 2021.

IPEA followed the required Commonwealth procurement guidelines to identify a travel service provider and following a competitive open tender process, Corporate Travel Management Pty Ltd (CTM) was appointed as the travel service provider for Members of Parliament, their staff and former parliamentarians.

 

When does the new travel service provider commence?

CTM will commence full service operations from 1 January 2022. 

From Wednesday 1 December 2021, CTM will accept bookings by phone or email for travel that will be undertaken from 1 January 2022. CTM cannot accept bookings for travel in 2021.

 

Travel before 31 December 2021

What if I have to book travel now?

For all travel this year and up to 31 December 2021, please continue to book with FCM. FCM cannot take new bookings for travel beyond 31 December 2021. 

 

What if I have booked travel that starts in 2021 and ends in 2022?

If you have an existing booking with FCM that overlaps 2021 and 2022 you may keep it and manage it directly with FCM.

If you need to re-schedule your booking for travel in 2022, please cancel your booking with FCM and re-book your travel with CTM.

Further travel booking channels will be made available in 2022.

CTM cannot take bookings for travel in 2021, please continue to book travel for 2021 with FCM.
 

What if I need to travel in early January 2022? How do I book travel?

From Wednesday 1 December 2021, you may book travel for 2022 with CTM:

CTM will offer further travel booking channels in 2022.
 

What happens to my pre-existing travel bookings for travel in 2022 made with FCM?

If you have an existing booking with FCM for travel up to June 2022, you may keep the booking with FCM. You will need to manage this booking directly with FCM.

Alternatively, you can cancel the booking with FCM and rebook it with CTM from 1 December 2021. FCM is unable to take new bookings for travel in 2022 due to contractual limitations.

From Wednesday 1 December 2021, you must make all new travel bookings for 2022 with CTM.
 

What if I booked travel with FCM for 2021 and need to change it to 2022?

If you have an existing booking with FCM for travel in 2021 and you need to change it to 2022, please cancel the booking with FCM and re-book the trip with CTM.
 

What if I have booked travel that starts in 2021 and ends in 2022?

If you have an existing booking with FCM that overlaps 2021 and 2022 you may keep it. This booking will need to be managed directly with FCM.

If you need to re-schedule your booking for 2022, please cancel your booking with FCM and re-book your travel with CTM. 
 

What do I do if I need to book travel now for Parliamentary Sittings in 2022?

From Wednesday 1 December 2021, you may book travel with CTM for travel in 2022.

FCM cannot take new bookings for travel in 2022.

Will FCM accept my travel booking for 2022?

No, from 31 December 2021, FCM will no longer be the contracted travel service provider. FCM is unable to accept new bookings for travel after 31 December 2021.

If you have an existing booking with FCM for travel up to June 2022, you can keep the booking with FCM. You will need to manage this booking directly with FCM.

Alternatively, you can cancel the booking with FCM and re-book it with CTM from 1 December 2021.

Can I book flights with CTM?

Yes, CTM can book your flights at whole of government fares.

From Wednesday 1 December 2021, you may book travel with CTM for travel in 2022.

FCM cannot take new bookings for travel in 2022.

Please book all travel for 2021 with FCM.
 

Can I book charter travel with CTM?

Yes, from Wednesday 1 December 2021 CTM can organise charter travel for travel in 2022. They will source quotes from providers to enable you to make an informed value-for-money decision.
 

Can I book accommodation with CTM?

Yes, CTM can book your accommodation from Wednesday 1 December 2021 for travel in 2022.
 

Can I book a car through CTM?

Yes, CTM can book a hire car for you from Wednesday 1 December 2021 for travel in 2022.
 

How do I book travel with CTM?

You can book travel for 2022 with CTM from Wednesday 1 December 2021 by calling or emailing them:

Will we receive training and support to use CTM’s booking tools?

Yes. IPEA and CTM are organising training sessions to demonstrate and show you how to use their booking and reporting tools. Fortunately, they are intuitive and simple to use.

IPEA will inform you once the training sessions are available.
 

Will I still be able to use my current Travel Profile Number (TPN) to book travel with CTM?

Yes. CTM will use your existing TPN to book your travel for 2022.
 

What will happen to all of my flight preferences?

CTM is working with FCM to received relevant flight-preference data while upholding privacy requirements. Initially, CTM may need you to provide some personal details that could not be provided due to privacy requirements.

What if I am unhappy with CTM’s service?

In the first instance, please try to resolve your service challenge with CTM. They are a service-oriented organisation, open to feedback and will do their best to resolve the situation.

Will CTM keep my information private and confidential?

Yes. CTM is required to undertake a privacy impact assessment and has many years of experience safeguarding its clients’ information.
